Here, for fun, is an example of my morning piano routine. I've been doing this for a few years now. Every morning, it's the first thing I do, like morning pages. It's pure improv, although I've fallen into a groove of playing little time games here and there (Gina Lollabrigida for 7s and Macintosh Apple/Michaelangelo for 5s). This one is about 17 minutes long. I edited out the worst of the digital clipping disturbances, which might have been some electrical connection gone rogue. I left some of those warts in near the beginning; they weren't too bad and they disappeared after a short time. I always end on a big chord and listen until I can't hear it anymore. I also always try to identify the lowest and highest notes of that chord. Oh, and I always play the whole thing with my eyes closed.
